Now it is public information – the NHL team’s first draft pick has leaked!
The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to select Gavin McKennan as the first player in the summer NHL draft. Several insider reports suggest that the decision is practically already clear.
Boston Bruins insider reporter Shawn Hutcheon states that he received information at the NHL Scouting Combine indicating that Toronto has already communicated its intentions directly to McKennan.
– A source close to the situation, who was present at the NHL Combine event, told me that Toronto informed Gavin McKennan during the player interview that they intend to select him first, Hutcheon writes on X.
Also, The Athletic reporter Scott Wheeler considers the Maple Leafs to be a very likely and almost certain option for McKennan.
– League people are increasingly convinced that McKenna will end up with the Maple Leafs, and nothing I heard in Buffalo this week changed that direction. I know they like Chase Reid, but my understanding is that it’s about McKennan, Wheeler said.
