Utah Mammoth announces that they have signed defender John Marino to a big contract.
Marino, 29, has played in Utah for two seasons now. The new extension deal is for a total of eight years.
The average annual salary is $6.75 million, which means a total value of $54 million.
Marino had an excellent last season. His plus/minus rating was an impressive +42, and he scored 4+32 points in 80 regular season games. In the playoffs, he had one goal in six games.
In the previous season, Marino played 35 games in Utah with a scoring line of 1+13.
Mammoth is the third NHL team for the American player. He has previously played for the New Jersey Devils and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
