NHL trade – Swedish defender returns to familiar team
The St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals have made a trade in the NHL.
In the deal, Swedish defenseman Calle Rosen is moving to St. Louis. In exchange, American defenseman Corey Schueneman is heading to Washington.
Rosen, 31, has played nine games this season with AHL team Hershey Bears, recording 1+6 points. In his career, he has played 93 regular-season games in the NHL (11+20=31) and nine playoff games. Rosen has previously represented St. Louis during the 2021-24 seasons, and he has also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche.
Schueneman, 30, has played nine games this season in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds, scoring 1+5 points. In the NHL, he has played a total of 35 games (2+5) with the St. Louis Blues and Montreal Canadiens.
Both players’ contracts, valued at $775,000, cover the remainder of this season.
