NHL players finished second – A special note was made about Jesse Puljujärvi in North America
Jesse Puljujärvi‘s strong performances in the ice hockey World Championships have caught attention in North America and sparked discussions about a possible return to the NHL.
Puljujärvi played a prominent role in Finland’s match against Austria. He scored a goal and provided an assist in the second period, and was involved in crucial moments of Finland’s victory. His performances in the tournament have been highlighted, increasing interest in NHL circles as well.
DailyFaceoff reporter Steven Ellis brought up Puljujärvi’s situation and mentioned that there is extensive discussion about him in North America.
– There has been a huge amount of discussion online about his return to the NHL – should an NHL team take a risk on him, Ellis wrote.
Ellis also assessed Puljujärvi’s current level and compared him to other Finnish players in the tournament.
– I know this isn’t a best-on-best tournament, but Puljujärvi has played better than most Finnish NHL players. He was effective in Switzerland this year and has played excellently in many games in this tournament, Ellis noted.
At the same time, he reminded that Puljujärvi’s play has also faced challenges regarding consistency.
– Consistency is still an issue – he really didn’t do anything in those blowout wins against the United States and Latvia.
Ellis finally pondered the NHL possibility and the associated risk for teams.
– Still, I would like to see some team take a risk on him, but they would need to commit to him, as he already has a contract in the Swiss league.
