NHL is left behind – Finnish forward found a new team!

Finnish forward Joona Koppanen leaves North American rinks behind and moves to Sweden’s SHL. He has signed a contract with Luleå HF.
Koppanen, 28, played the previous three seasons in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, where he recorded 13 NHL games this season with stats of 0+1. The majority of Koppanen’s season was spent with AHL team Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, where he logged 44 regular season games with points of 8+17=25 and 15 playoff games with stats of 2+2.
Koppanen has played in North America for the past nine seasons. He accumulated 33 NHL games with points of 1+2. In addition to Pittsburgh, he previously represented the Boston Bruins.
In the AHL, Koppanen has played over 400 games.
