New information about Anton Lundell’s injury – Bad news for the Lions
New information has emerged regarding the injury of Florida Panthers’ Anton Lundell.
Coach Paul Maurice of the 24-year-old Finnish center, who is suffering from a rib injury, told the media on Wednesday that Lundell, who was last seen in action last week, is expected to be out for approximately 2-6 weeks.
The Panthers’ head coach also revealed that Lundell will not require surgery for his recovery.
This news is unfortunate for the Lions as well, since the Panthers, who are likely to miss the playoffs in the NHL, will hardly allow their injured players to participate in the World Championships in Switzerland this spring.
Lundell represented Finland in the Olympic tournament in Milan, where the two-time Stanley Cup winner recorded 1+1 points in five games. The forward has played 64 games in the current NHL season with stats of 18+26=44.
The World Championships will be held from May 15 to 31.
