The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed a one-year, two-way contract with Finnish forward Mikael Pyyhtiä. With his new contract, Pyyhtiä will earn $775,000 in the NHL and $100,000 in the AHL. The contract also includes a minimum guaranteed salary of $140,000.

Pyyhtiä, 23, was Columbus’ 4th round pick (#114) in 2020. He played 47 games in the NHL last season, recording 4+3 points, and in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters, he played 28 regular season games with 3+13=16 points and six playoff games with 0+1 points.

In the NHL, Pyyhtiä has played a total of 66 games over the last three seasons, with 4+6=10 points.

Before moving to North America, Pyyhtiä represented TPS. He was also seen last spring with the Lions in the World Championships, where he played three games.
