Milan Lucic found a new team!
Veteran forward Milan Lucic, 37, has signed a tryout contract with AHL team Springfield Thunderbirds.
The team is the farm team of the St. Louis Blues. Before the start of the season, Lucic was also on a tryout contract with St. Louis. He played four NHL preseason games with the team, recording 1+1, but then had to step aside due to a lower body injury.
Before this fall’s training camp, Lucic last played in the fall of 2023 with the Boston Bruins, appearing in four games. Lucic was arrested at that time due to allegations of domestic violence, after which his NHL contract was terminated. Lucic did not play for the rest of the season nor last season.
Lucic has played 1,177 regular season games (233+353=586) and 136 playoff games (29+48=77) in his NHL career. He won the Stanley Cup in Boston in 2011. Lucic has also represented the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames in the NHL.
