Mikko Rantanen’s Dallas baked a trade – a colossal reinforcement!
The Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars prepared a trade on Wednesday, in which veteran defenseman Tyler Myers moves to the Stars.
According to TSN reporter Pierre LeBrun, Dallas is giving the Canucks two future draft picks: a 2nd round pick for 2027 and a 4th round pick for 2029. Additionally, Vancouver will retain 50 percent of Myers’ remaining contract, which guarantees the defenseman a three million dollar annual salary and lasts until 2027.
The 36-year-old Myers has played a total of 1123 regular season games in the NHL and has represented the Canucks for seven seasons. This season, he has recorded 1+8 points in 57 games.
The Dallas Stars are among the top championship favorites in the NHL. The team, led by Mikko Rantanen, is second in the Western Conference behind the Colorado Avalanche.
