Magazine: Tappara is about to sign a massive reinforcement?
Tappara may be getting a high-level forward reinforcement for the 2026-27 season. According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, forward Joona Luoto will not continue with HV71 next season. The newspaper reports that Luoto is returning to Finland for the next season.
The newspaper mentions Tappara as a possible destination. However, nothing is certain regarding the club yet.
Luoto has played two seasons with HV71 in the SHL. This season has been very difficult. In 30 games, the tall forward has recorded modest stats of 4+5=9.
Last season was better for Luoto. He scored 25 points in 40 SHL games.
Luoto also has experience in the NHL. He has played a total of 23 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Luoto last played for Tappara in the 2021-22 season. He scored 14 points in 27 regular season games with 9+5=14. In the playoffs, he made his breakthrough to star level. He recorded 17 points in 14 decisive games with 8+9=17, and he was named the most valuable player of the playoffs.
