Lukko announced an important extension agreement on Friday.

The option for an additional year included in the contract with the Rauma team and star center Mikael Ruohamaa has been exercised, and the 37-year-old forward, who has won a silver medal with the Lions in his career, will continue with the team in the upcoming season.

Sports director Kalle Sahlstedt commented on Ruohamaa’s continuation in the team’s announcement.

– Ruohamaa is a really, really valuable player for us, so it is extremely important and wonderful that he continues with us in the upcoming season, Sahlstedt starts and continues.

– As we have all seen, he is indeed a classic playmaker. Rightfully our number one center and the core of our top power play – pretty much exactly what we hoped for and expected.

Ruohamaa has played 51 regular season games this season with a score of 14+41=55. The veteran center, who spent the previous four seasons in the SHL, is Lukko’s top scorer this season.
