Kärppien viime kauden tähtihyökkääjä Reid Gardiner on aloittanut uuden kauden SHL:ssä poskettomassa pistevireessä.
Växjö Lakersin riveihin kesällä siirtynyt, neljä edelliskautta Liigassa hurjia pistemääriä JYPin, HIFK:n ja Kärppien paidassa takonut Gardiner, 29, iski SHL-debyytissään Brynäsiä vastaan tehot 1+2.
Tiistain kotiavaus räjäytti viimeistään potin kanadalaisen iskettyä hattutempun 5-3-voittoon päättyneessä ottelussa HV-71:ä vastaan. Gardiner on nyt kerännyt alkukauden kahdessa ottelussa tehot 4+2=6.
Jatkumo ei ole varsinaisesti yllätys, sillä Gardiner iski neljän Liiga-kautensa aikana heikoimmillaankin 23 runkosarjamaalia. Viime kaudella laituri pommitti 60 runkosarjapelissä tehot 27+28=55.
