Kiekko-Espoo will have to play the coming weeks without their best scorer from the beginning of the season.
The club states on its website that forward Tomi Sallinen will be out of games for four weeks. Sallinen played against HIFK on Friday but was sidelined from Saturday’s match against JYP.
Sallinen, 36, has been in strong form this season. He is Kiekko-Espoo’s most effective player, with 8+5=13 points after 16 games. At this point, Sallinen has already surpassed his point total from last season, where he recorded 2+7=9 points in 46 games.
In addition to Sallinen, Kiekko-Espoo’s injured list includes Aarne Talvitie (3-6 months), Santeri Virtanen (4-5 weeks), and Matti Järvinen (1-3 weeks).
