Liiga star revealed: wants a transfer to a top club!
Mikkelin Jukurien Swedish star Kim Johansson is reportedly changing scenery for the next season.
The 27-year-old Johansson revealed to the Norrbottens-Kuriren newspaper that he plans to return to Swedish soil. The Swedish defender, who is playing his second season with the Jukurit, dreams of a transfer to the top club Luleå HF in the SHL.
– We haven’t decided anything yet, but my partner wants to start working at some point, and the chances of finding something she considers meaningful are better at home. Moving to Luleå would be ideal. That’s where we both would like to move, Johansson says.
Johansson is a product of Luleå HF, where he played 29 games in the 2021-22 season. After that, the 180 cm tall defender continued his journey in the HockeyAllsvenskan league.
– The probability that they will give me another chance is probably quite small. At the same time, I am confident that I would succeed there now. If that weren’t the case, I would have already left it. I have also promised my friend that I will seize the opportunity if it comes. But just wanting is not enough, Johansson says.
This season, Johansson has been the fourth most effective player for Jukurit. He has scored impressive points for a defender with 1+8=9 in 13 games. Last season, Johansson totaled 27 points with 9+18 in 54 regular season games.
Johansson’s Liiga contract with Jukurit ends after this season.
