Liiga informs: the trade deadline for the current season is clear
Liiga announces that the transfer deadline for the current season will be two weeks later compared to last season. The reason for this is the February Olympics.
This season’s transfer deadline in Liiga is Monday, March 2, 2026. At that time, the rosters of Liiga teams will be locked for the remainder of the season. The transfer deadline has also been extended to early March in other European top leagues.
– We comply with the international transfer deadline set by IIHF in Liiga. Teams must register the player transfers they make to a new club by the deadline, Liiga’s sports director Jussi Markkanen states in the announcement.
After the transfer deadline, there will be about two weeks left in the regular season. The last round of the regular season will be played on March 17.
