Kiekko-Espoo announces on Instagram that the Espoo-born forward Tomi Sallinen will not continue with the team in the upcoming season. According to the update, Sallinen’s career will continue elsewhere.

Sallinen, 37, has played a significant role in Kiekko-Espoo’s resurgence. He represented the club for the last two seasons, scoring 27 points (13+14) in 51 games last season.

In the league, Sallinen has only played in Espoo. He started his Liiga career with the Blues in the 2007-08 season and has played a total of 438 regular-season games (65+96=161) and 73 playoff games (7+20=27).

Throughout his career, Sallinen has also played in Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. Sallinen has won silver medals with the Lions at the World Championships twice, in 2014 and 2016.
