The Mikkelin Jukurit, currently second in the league standings, recorded a significant loss of 434,000 euros in the concluded financial year. According to the club’s statement, the parent company Jukurit HC Oy’s revenue increased to 4.9 million euros.

Revenue grew by 5.2 percent, but the result remained clearly in the negative. In the previous financial year, the loss had accumulated to 415,000 euros.

– The starting situation was already particularly challenging. Jukurit began the financial year from a position where the previous financial year had ended with a loss of 415,000 euros. At the same time, the company was still responsible for the costs of two head coach contracts, and the NHL development compensation that had brought significant additional income in the previous financial year was completely absent, the club states in the announcement.

Last season, Jukurit, which missed the playoffs, strengthened its finances through player sales. After the balance sheet date, the club has also improved its finances through other arrangements.

– These included the sale of shares in the ice rink company to the city of Mikkeli’s real estate company Naisting, the conversion of existing investor loans into equity, and the entry of new investors into the company, as explained in the announcement.

As a result of the arrangements, the company’s equity returned to positive by the end of August 2026.

– As a result of the measures, the company’s equity returned to positive by the end of August 2026, and the cash situation improved significantly. At the same time, the company’s financial position improved significantly compared to the balance sheet date.

On the ice, Jukurit’s situation now looks much better than last season: the team from Mikkeli has risen to the top ranks of the league.
