League club with a 21-year-old captain!
Jyväskylä’s JYP announces that they have named Jere Lassila, 21, as the new captain of the team.
Lassila becomes the 22nd captain in JYP’s club history. The young center replaces veteran defender Teemu Erosen, who served as the captain of the Jyväskylä team for one and a half seasons.
The captain’s duties are not entirely new to Lassila, as he also served as the captain of the Under-20 Lions during last winter’s World Championships.
Last season, Lassila was JYP’s third most effective player. He recorded 35 points in 58 games with a score of 9+26.
