Last-minute twist: NHL star out of the Olympics – A familiar face from the league joins in

The Czech national ice hockey team will have to manage without Pavel Zacha at the Milano-Cortina Olympics. The Boston Bruins forward is suffering from an upper body injury.
In place of Zacha, the team has named Filip Chlapik. The 28-year-old forward has played this season with Sparta Prague, where he has scored 19 goals and provided 26 assists in 45 games.
Chlapik has played 57 games in the NHL during his career, where he has recorded 5+6=11 points. He is also familiar with the Liiga, having played for Pelicans in the 2020-21 season.
The Czech Republic will face Canada in their opening match of the Olympics on Thursday.
