Kultaleijona said goodbye to HIFK – “Thank you”
HIFK announced on Thursday significant changes to its roster. One of the players leaving the Helsinki club is World Championship and Olympic gold medalist Petteri Lindbohm, whose last two seasons have been heavily affected by injuries.
The 32-year-old gold lion bid farewell to HIFK on Thursday via his social media channels.
– Thank you HIFK fans, the office, and above all, all the players for the past years, Lindbohm wrote on his Instagram account.
Having appeared in 49 NHL games during his career, Lindbohm played 27 regular season games this season (3+5=8) and five playoff games (0+1). Lindbohm was part of the Lions team that won World Championship gold in the spring of 2019. He celebrated Olympic gold with the national team in 2022.
The list of departures from HIFK is long. The club, which is building a team resembling Olli Jokinen for next season, bid farewell to a total of eight players on Thursday.
