KooKoo star Jimi Suomi leaves the Liiga rink – here is the new address!
The defender Jimi Suomi, who has shone on the backlines of the KooKoo silver team, is leaving the domestic rinks behind and moving to the SHL in Sweden. He has signed a two-year contract with Växjö Lakers HC.
Suomi, 23, represented KooKoo for the last two seasons. In the past season, he recorded 31 points (11+20) in 53 regular season games and 13 points (4+9) in 18 playoff games.
– Jimi is a really interesting player with a lot of top qualities. We aim to help him develop into a top European player. I absolutely believe he has the potential to rise to that level, Växjö’s sports director Henrik Evertsson commented in the club’s press release.
Suomi has not played abroad in his previous career. In the league, he represented TPS before moving to KooKoo.
