KooKoo: massive setback!
SaiPa and KooKoo meet on Friday for the fourth semifinal match, with KooKoo leading the series 2-1. KooKoo has suffered a huge setback heading into the match, as Ville Meskanen is missing from the Kouvola team’s lineup.
Meskanen has formed a strong first line for KooKoo together with Miska Siikonen and Veeti Miettinen. Meskanen has scored 3+4 points in seven playoff games.
Tomas Mazura will take Meskanen’s place in KooKoo’s first line. New names joining KooKoo’s lineup are Manu Mäkelä, Santeri Sulku, and Jiri Pärssinen, who is returning from a suspension. In addition to Meskanen, Akseli Mäkinen and Joseph Berger will also be sidelined. Marcus Davidsson is still suspended today.
SaiPa will get back defender Ondrej Trejbal, who was injured in the second match and missed the third match. He returns to the second defensive pair, which means Karri Aho will move to the seventh defenseman. Vertti Svensk will be sidelined.
SaiPa’s top scorer in the regular season, Maxime Fortier, will miss his second consecutive match.
