Kiekko-Espoo strengthens ahead of the new Liiga season with a new Canadian forward. The club announced on Tuesday a one-year contract with center Carter King.

The 24-year-old King played last season for the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers, where the 180 cm forward scored 13 points (5+8) in 66 games.

– Carter is an exemplary and responsible center. A strong faceoff specialist and an intelligent player in both directions. He does little winning things for the team every shift. We look forward to him joining the team as soon as the paperwork is sorted out, sports director Kim Hirschovits commented on King’s acquisition in the club’s announcement.

Before last season, King racked up points at nearly a point-per-game pace with the University of Denver team, where he celebrated NCAA championship titles twice.
