Kärpät signed Leijonat forward
Oulu Kärpät announced an important extension on Wednesday.
The club has signed a 1+1 year extension with top forward Eemil Erholtz, 25. Erholtz has scored 39 points this season in 46 games, with a record of 13+26, which is his personal best for a single season.
– My heart said to continue here. I have enjoyed playing for Kärpät and being in Oulu, but the results have not been what we want and expect. However, I believe in a better tomorrow, the forward familiar from the Lions explained his extension on Kärpät’s website.
– Eemil’s extension is very important for us. It’s great that he wants to continue with the club and believes in our rise with Kärpät. He brings quality to our offense and represents the identity we want to build – speed, work ethic, and courage to play, sports director Kimmo Kapanen commented.
This season, Erholtz returned to his youth club from Ässät and was part of the Lions’ World Championship team last spring in the tournament held in Stockholm.
