The captaincy of the Kärpät Liiga team for the upcoming season was announced on Tuesday.

This season, the captain for the Oulu team will be double Liiga champion Atte Ohtamaa, 37, who returns to the captaincy after a two-year break. Ohtamaa replaces the retired captain Marko Anttila.

The defender, who has won two World Championship golds and an Olympic gold in the lion jersey during his career, has previously served as the captain of Kärpät for three different seasons.

Ohtamaa’s vice-captains for the upcoming season will be Patrik Virta, Marcus Björk, and Eemil Erholtz.
