Jokerit: top reinforcement makes its debut!
The Jokerit will play their first home game of the season on Thursday, facing JYP. This home game is also the first for Jokerit in the league in over 12 years.
Jokerit has added forward Patrik Virta to their lineup for Thursday, who will play his first game for the club. Virta, who joined Jokerit last spring, has been sidelined at the start of the season due to injury.
Virta, 30, will center Jokerit’s fourth line. On his wings will be Markus Hännikäinen and Bruno Kallio.
In the previous two seasons, Virta played for Kärpät. Last season, he recorded 34 points in 46 games with 9 goals and 25 assists. In the league, Virta has also represented HPK, TPS, and Tappara, where he won two Finnish championships.
Jokerit has lost their first three games of the season. In contrast, JYP, in strong form, has won all three of their games.
