JYP has announced its entire captaincy for the 2025-26 Liiga season.
As the club announced earlier, the new captain of the team is Jere Lassila. The alternate captains for the next season will be Sami Vatanen and Juuso Puustinen.
Lassila, 21, has previously served as the captain of the Under-20 and Under-18 national teams in the World Championships. Last season, the forward recorded 35 points with 9 goals and 26 assists in 58 games for JYP.
Vatanen is a product of JYP’s youth system. He returned to his former club after playing abroad for 13 seasons. Puustinen will begin his fourth consecutive season and fifth overall season with JYP. He has also served as the team’s alternate captain for the last three seasons.
