Veteran defender Atte Ohtamaa, 38, continues his impressive career. He has signed a contract with JYP for the remainder of the season.
– Great feelings coming to Jyväskylä. The opportunity to play for JYP was an opportunity that immediately excited me and I definitely wanted to seize it, Ohtamaa says in the club’s press release.
The transfer is surprising, as Ohtamaa is a legend of Kärpät and has represented Kärpät throughout his previous Liiga career. In Oulu, he played for 13 seasons and 634 regular season games.
Last season, Ohtamaa served as the captain of Kärpät. In 57 games, he recorded 6+5=11 points.
