Jussi Tapola admits to IS: the work of a sports director is interesting – this is how he commented on HIFK.
Jussi Tapola has been one of the most interesting names in the European coaching market since he was fired from Bern in October. In his career, Tapola has won four championships with Tappara and served as an assistant coach with the Lions.
Ilta-Sanomat interview, Tapola mentioned that he is interested in roles beyond just coaching. Tapola also has previous experience as a sports director from Tappara.
– It was a great experience that opened my eyes. I got to know agents and the world outside of coaching, Tapola commented.
– Because coaching is very much about being in your own office and with the team. A bit like a washing machine that starts when the season begins. You don’t see the big picture in the same way.
Tapola has an interesting response to the open sports director position at HIFK.
– We have read the same news, Tapola commented to Ilta-Sanomat.
– Surely there is an expert team doing thorough research work at the moment.
HIFK earlier this week fired sports director Janne Pesonen.
