Jukureiden Justin Addamo, what was it like to perform better than MacKinnon in the Canada game?
MILANO.
Canada defeated France in the group stage match of the Olympics with a score of 10-2.
The team did not perform very well, but on an individual level, France’s Justin Addamo succeeded. He assisted both of France’s goals and recorded a plus/minus of +2. Quite an impressive achievement when losing 2-10.
From a Finnish perspective, it is interesting that Addamo plays professionally for Mikkelin Jukureita.
– The league is a good series, but this was… a bit tougher. A couple of notches higher level, Addamo said to SuomiKiekko after the game.
– Naturally, this is a privileged experience to play against such players. We knew it would be a tough match. We perhaps couldn’t play a complete 60 minutes.
What does it feel like to have more points against a team like Canada than Nathan MacKinnon?
– We managed to score a couple of goals, and as a line, we did well, but I am frustrated with the result, Addamo said, while pulling a smile from ear to ear.
What do you plan to tell the Jukurit players about these games and players?
– I plan to say that it was an absolutely amazing experience, and maybe I’ll throw in some jokes during practice. I will also tell them how impressive these opponents are and how huge the level difference is.
At the end of the match, there was also a proper fight between France’s Pierre Crinon and Canada’s Tom Wilson. Thoughts?
– I kind of understand that side of hockey. MacKinnon took quite a hard hit behind the goal. There was some trash talk, and the guys ended up dropping the gloves. I just know what caused that fight.
