Jokerit left two players on the sidelines – now it has been revealed where they will continue

The Mestis club Kiekko-Vantaa has strengthened its ranks with two young players moving from Jokerit. Forward Veeti Räsänen and goalkeeper Lukas Selin have signed one-year contracts with Vantaa.

Both players are 20 years old. Jokerit announced earlier this week that the duo will not continue with the Helsinki club.

Räsänen represented Jokerit for four seasons, primarily playing in the club’s U18 and U20 teams. The forward, hailing from Joensuu, was one of the most effective players in the U20 team last season.

Räsänen collected an impressive 48 points in 36 games, with a tally of 28 goals and 20 assists. In Mestis, he played ten games and recorded 1+1.

Additionally, Räsänen has played 14 games with the Pikkuleijonat.

At Kiekko-Vantaa, the forward has already found his rhythm before the season starts. He has scored 2+2 in the team’s four practice games.

– It’s very nice to be in Vantaa, there has been a good vibe in the team. The goal is to reach the medal games and develop as a player as much as possible during the upcoming season, the young man says in a statement.

Selin, on the other hand, moved to Kiekko-Vantaa from Jokerit on Tuesday. The 193 cm tall goalkeeper also spent the last four seasons in Jokerit’s U18 and U20 teams.

Last season, Selin experienced Mestis action for the first time with TuTo. He played 11 games in the regular season and also appeared in four playoff games.

In Jokerit’s U20 team, Selin had a save percentage of 90.8 in 12 games last season.
