Jokerit has made changes to its lineup for Saturday’s Liiga round, as the Helsinki club travels to Rauma to face Lukko.

The main focus is on the defense, where American star Matt Caito plays his first Liiga match in a Jokerit jersey and immediately rises to the team’s top defensive pair.

The 33-year-old Caito is a familiar name to Finnish hockey followers. During his previous visit to Finland, Caito represented KooKoo and won the Liiga’s best defenseman award.

Caito spent the last six seasons with Swedish team Leksand in the SHL.

There is also a change in Jokerit’s goaltending department. Veini Vehviläinen, who played in the opening round against Sport, makes way for Swedish goaltender Olle Eriksson Ek, who will take on the goaltending duties in Rauma.

Both Jokerit and Lukko started their Liiga season on Tuesday with a loss, so in Saturday’s match, both are hunting for their first victory of the season.

All matches of Saturday’s Liiga round will start at 5 PM.
