The start of the season for Jokerit has been anything but desirable. The Helsinki team that rose to the SM-liiga has lost both of its first matches and has already conceded 11 goals.

On Saturday, Lukko defeated Jokerit in Rauma with a score of 7–2.

In the early season performances, especially the goaltending has raised questions. Veini Vehviläinen‘s save percentage is below 87. Olle Eriksson-Ek has only played half a game so far, but his numbers are just under 69 percent.

MTV Urheilu expert Jesse Joensuu sees the situation such that the sports management of Jokerit should be active regarding reinforcements.

– The sports management is already in a hurry, Joensuu, who has also played in Jokerit during his career, stated on the Liigaviikko program.

There are also question marks related to the defense. Matthew Caito, who played his first match of the season against Lukko, did not impress Joensuu.

– Based on one game, Caito is definitely not the leader of Jokerit’s puck-moving defense. What about Oliver Larsen? No evidence from recent years, Joensuu ponders.

Jokerit will try to turn their course around on Wednesday in Pori.
