Jarmo Kekäläinen struck again – a massive contract for the forward giant
The Finnish boss of the Buffalo Sabres, Jarmo Kekäläinen, has rewarded his important workhorse with a significant contract extension.
The team has reached an agreement on a contract extension with forward Beck Malenstyn. The total value of the six-year contract amounts to 17.5 million dollars. The contract was announced on Monday.
The new deal raises the 28-year-old Canadian forward’s annual earnings to about 2.92 million dollars.
The 191-centimeter Malenstyn has represented the Sabres for two seasons and has established his place in the team’s lower lines. Last season, the winger played 71 regular season games with stats of 7+7=14 and recorded 3 points (1+2) in 13 playoff games.
Before his move to Buffalo, Malenstyn played for the Washington Capitals. Over seven NHL seasons, the forward has played a total of 262 regular season games.
Malenstyn’s most productive season to date, 2023–24, yielded 21 points (6+15) in 81 games.
