Janne Pesonen is leaving HIFK!
The sports director of Helsingin IFK, Janne Pesonen, will not continue in his position.
HIFK announces that Pesonen’s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement between the parties.
– We want to thank Janne for his work for the club. We wish Janne success and all the best for the future, commented HIFK’s CEO Ilkka Kortesluoma in the statement.
Pesonen underwent surgery at the end of October, and he was on sick leave until his dismissal.
– I want to thank the club and especially the people I have had the opportunity to work with every day. I want to give the club peace to work, which is why I will not comment further at this stage, Pesonen says.
HIFK will immediately begin the recruitment of a new sports director.
For the time being, the position of sports director will be handled by a working group consisting of head coach Olli Jokinen, chairman of SAB Mika Kortelainen, and CEO Kortesluoma.
HIFK’s season has been terrible. The club, operating with a large player budget, is currently at the bottom of the league.
