It’s not true – Lassi Thomson faced a tough fate in the NHL!
Finnish defenseman Lassi Thomson‘s return to the NHL took an unfortunate turn when his game against the New York Rangers ended with an injury.
Thomson, representing the Ottawa Senators, was on the ice for only 4 minutes and 25 seconds as Nikolas Matinpalo‘s defense partner before he had to leave the game due to a lower body injury.
Ottawa secured a 2–1 away victory in the match, but the win was overshadowed by injuries. Thomas Chabot also had to sit out, and head coach Travis Green assessed that both would be out of the lineup for some time.
The situation is particularly disappointing for Thomson, as this was his first NHL game of the season and a return to the league after a long break – the last time he played in the NHL was in November 2022. This season, he has played 55 games in the AHL with stats of 14+11.
