IS: The league-aspiring Imatran Ketterä has hired a new head coach

This season, Imatran Ketterä, which celebrated silver in Mestiksen, has announced that it is seeking a Liiga license for the 2026-27 season. The coaching staff of the Imatra club is also changing for the important upcoming season.
According to Ilta-Sanomat, next season Ketterä’s head coach will be Joni Petrell, 48. In recent years, Petrell has served as the head coach of Kiekko-Espoo’s A-juniors and as an assistant coach for Finland’s youth national teams.
Petrell has previous work experience in both Liiga and Mestiksen. In the 2018-19 season, he worked as an assistant coach for Ässät. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the head coach of Joensuun Kiekko-Pojat.
