Tappara’s head coach Kari Jalonen has faced a new situation at the beginning of the season.

The Tampere team has played a total of 11 matches during September, seven in the League and four in the CHL. Jalonen told Ilta-Sanomat that due to the tight match schedule, proper team practices have been very limited. For the experienced head coach, this situation is unusual.

– We have managed to hold four proper team practices. That’s quite little. In my coaching career, I have never had anything like this, Jalonen wondered.

Tappara has started its season variably. Out of seven matches in the League, it has won three and lost four. In the CHL, four matches have resulted in two wins and seven points.

Jalonen believes that Tappara’s performance will improve as the team gets more time for joint training.

– I believe that when we get to practice some common five-man plays at some point, it will definitely show on the ice, Jalonen says.

Tappara lost to SaiPa in the League on Saturday with a score of 2-4. It will play next on Wednesday when KooKoo comes to Tampere.
