In the Satakunta derby, the score was ugly – Ässät gave Lukko a harsh beating.
Ässät and Lukko faced off in a league preseason match on Friday. The Satakunta derby ultimately went to Ässät with a decisive score of 8-3.
After two periods, the score was still 2-2, as both teams managed to score once in the first and second periods. The goals for Ässät were scored by Alexandre Doucet and Kasper Björkqvist, while Felix Robert and Santeri Virtanen found the net for Lukko.
In the final period, the score widened significantly as Ässät struck six goals. The standout player of the match was Carl Klingberg, who completed a hat trick in the third period and accumulated a total of 3+1 points in the game.
Other goals for Ässät in the final period were scored by Alexander Kim, Otso Ylitalo, and Kasperi Ojantakanen. In the final seconds, Lukko managed to score their third goal of the match, with Virtanen netting his second of the night.
In goal for Ässät, Jan Bednar made 31 saves during the match. In contrast, Antti Raanta in Lukko’s goal recorded only 13 saves.
Before the start of the Liiga season, Ässät will still face Sport during the preseason. Lukko has one more match against HPK.
