Ilves and joker fans shouted harsh texts to each other at Veikkaus Arena
The fans of Ilves organized an impressive supporter trip to see Jokerit on Saturday evening. The atmosphere at Veikkaus Arena was fantastic as both the home team and the visiting team’s supporters made noise throughout the match.
After the match, the behavior of the supporters took on a different tone. Both fan groups shouted things that are not suitable for the ears of the more sensitive – or for the children present at the event.
At the end of the match, Ilves fans shouted: “Russians out!”
Jokerit fans responded by shouting: “Whores Tampere!”. Additionally, Jokerit supporters shouted “Putin h’uilo”, which is a song derogatory towards Vladimir Putin created by Ukrainian football fans. The translated title of the song is “Putin is a prick”.
The match ultimately ended with Ilves winning 3-0.
