Ilves: a brutal counterattack!
Tampereen Ilves forward Olli Palola will be out of the rink for a long time.
The 37-year-old veteran was injured in last Wednesday’s match against Sport, and he is expected to be sidelined for 2–4 months.
– It’s incredibly frustrating that the injury came right after reaching peak performance. It was extremely enjoyable to play, and the areas I had previously rehabilitated held up well. However, now I’ve encountered a completely new injury that has nothing to do with my old injuries. I will focus on rehabilitation and support my team from outside the rink. We’ll see later if I can get back into playing shape during this season, Palola said on Ilves’ website.
Palola joined Ilves in November on a temporary contract, which later turned into a full-season contract. This season, he has played 24 Liiga matches, accumulating 7+7=14 points.
Recently, Palola has been particularly effective: in the last 11 matches, he has collected a total of 5+7=12 points.
