Defenseman Niclas Almari leaves the Rauma team. According to Iltalehti’s Lätkäpodi podcast, the 27-year-old Almari’s new team is from the Tampere area.

According to Timo Kunnari from Iltalehti, Almari, who is also sought after by Kiekko-Espoo, is very likely to be a player for Tappara next season.

– We have not seen the contract, but strong rumors are sending him to Tampere’s Tappara, Kunnari reports.

Originally from Espoo, Almari has represented Lukko for just over four seasons. Last season, the defender scored 33 points in the regular season and played 49 regular season games this season with stats of 3+12=15.

Previously representing HPK and Pelicans in the Liiga, Almari has played 377 regular season games in the league during his career. The defender also has experience from North America, where he has played 66 AHL and six ECHL games.

Lukko announced Almari’s departure on Friday.
