IL: Raimo Helmisen SaiPa made a huge move – “Stronger credentials than Maxime Fortier”
Iltalehti Lätkäpodi reports that Petr Fridrich is moving to the Liiga next season. The 25-year-old Czech forward is leaving HC Olomouc and is reportedly heading to SaiPa.
Rumors about Fridrich’s transfer circulated as early as March, when it was said he would continue his career in Northern Europe.
Fridrich is expected to fill the gap in SaiPa’s offense left by the rumored departure of Maxime Fortier to Jokerit.
In the recently concluded season, Fridrich was Olomouc’s top scorer with stats of 21+11=32. He finished fourth in the Czech league’s goal scoring chart. Known as a fast winger, he has also appeared for the Czech national team over three seasons.
– Fridrich’s credentials are stronger than those Fortier had before his arrival in the Liiga, it was said in the Lätkäpodi podcast.
Raimo Helmisen‘s SaiPa is currently playing in the Liiga semifinals against KooKoo. The team from Kouvola leads the series 2-1.
