IL: Lukko’s expensive forward leaving for another Liiga club despite the contract?
Rauman Lukko has recently announced that several players will leave the club at the end of the season. Among those leaving is a player who has a valid contract for next season.
In Iltalehti’s Lätkäpod, it is reported that forward Aarne Intonen, 24, is moving away from Lukko. Intonen and Lukko have a valid contract for next season. It remains to be seen whether the contract will be terminated or if the forward will be loaned elsewhere.
Intonen’s season fell short of expectations. The forward, who was brought to Lukko with high hopes, scored a modest total of 5+9=14 points in 50 regular-season games.
In the Lätkäpod, Timo Kunnari estimates that Intonen’s annual salary is around 150,000 euros.
There are rumors that Intonen is being taken more strongly into SaiPa’s ranks.
