HPK: a terrible setback – new reinforcement sidelined for a long time
HPK has experienced a harsh setback. The team will have to manage for a long time without Canadian forward Connor MacEachern.
The club reports in Tuesday’s match preview that MacEachern is expected to be out for approximately 8–10 weeks. Based on this timeline, the forward would return to action only at the turn of November-December.
MacEachern joined HPK this season from Sweden’s Allsvenskan. He has played seven Liiga games in the early season and recorded two assists in those games.
The Canadian forward has played the last games in the center of HPK’s second line. On his wings are also the Canadians Brendan Ranford and Ethan De Jong, who were acquired for Hämeenlinna this season.
Also on HPK’s injured list are Valtteri Piironen and Rasmus Tallqvist, whose situations are being monitored week by week.
HPK will face Jokerit on Tuesday at Veikkaus Arena.
