HIFK’s power player jumps to the competitor’s camp!
Defender Kalle Ervasti, 23, moves to Vaasan Sport with a two-year contract.
Ervasti was last season’s most effective defender for HIFK in the regular season with stats of 5+15 (43 games). In the playoffs, he continued his strong performances. Additionally, he logged the second most ice time of all HIFK players throughout the season.
– Kalle has been playing in the Liiga for several years, seeking his place, until he took a big step forward last season in terms of performance. This surely boosted his confidence and allowed him to develop. He will come to Vaasa in a significant role, where power play, penalty kill, and 5v5 play are expected, Sport’s head coach Lauri Mikkola commented on the transfer.
– A potential guy, at a good age, and I really like his playing style, Mikkola continued.
The product of Oulu’s Kiekko-Laser has accumulated a total of 176 games in his Liiga career. Sport is a familiar team for him from a four-game loan period during the 2024–2025 season.
