HIFK, which has suffered numerous injuries, has lost yet another key player to the injured list.
The club informs on their website that defender Tony Sund was injured in the match against Kärpät last Friday. Current estimates suggest that Sund will return to playing condition in January.
Sund, 30, has played 29 games this season with points of 1+8. This is Sund’s third season with HIFK, and the last few seasons have also been disrupted due to injuries.
Last spring, Sund represented the Lions at the World Championships, but his tournament ended prematurely due to injury. Sund was part of the Lions’ silver medal team in 2021.
Forward Jesse Seppälä has also fallen to the injured list from HIFK’s lineup. His estimated return is next week.
