HIFK, plagued by numerous injuries, has lost yet another key player to a long-term sick leave.
The club announces that forward Sebastian Repo has undergone surgery, which means he will be sidelined from games until approximately February 2026. Repo has been rehabilitating himself since last spring, but recovery did not progress as hoped, and thus the injury required surgical treatment.
Repo, 29, moved from Lukko to HIFK for this season. He was injured last spring and was sidelined until the start of this season. Repo returned to action on September 17 and managed to play four games for HIFK with stats of 0+2, before facing another long absence from games.
