Florida Panthers’ Finnish defenseman Niko Mikkola was injured in the team’s previous game against the Buffalo Sabres and had to leave the game due to an upper body injury.

The Panthers have received good news regarding Mikkola’s situation. Head coach Paul Maurice reports that Mikkola is fine. The Finnish defenseman participated in his team’s practice on Monday.

– He plays hard every night and he always has an ice pack somewhere. He was fine the next day, Maurice says.

The Panthers are suffering from the absence of several key players. Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Dmitri Kulikov, and Tomas Nosek are all out for an extended period.

The Panthers won their first three games of the season but have since lost four consecutive games. Next, the team will face the Boston Bruins in the early hours of Wednesday, Finnish time. Mikkola has not yet registered any points this season.
