Tappara making a wild acquisition – Expressen: Catching an SHL point machine!
Tappara is making a massive forward acquisition for the next season at the Liiga level, reports Expressen. According to their information, the team has signed a comprehensive contract for the next season with the strong performer from the SHL, Michael Lindqvist.
This season, the 31-year-old winger, who represented Leksand, scored 6+19=25 points in 31 regular-season games in the SHL. He has surpassed the 30-point mark in four SHL seasons.
According to Expressen’s information, several SHL teams were on the trail of the Swedish forward. One of them was Örebro, which, however, received a rejection from the player, according to the newspaper.
Lindqvist has played nearly his entire career in Sweden. His only visit abroad so far was in the 2018-19 season when the forward represented the New York Rangers’ AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
In total, Lindqvist has played 393 regular-season games in the SHL, with a record of 119+135=254 points.
